Simon Edmondson's are often gloomy yet reveal a glimpse of hidden worlds. In exploring the various levels of reality, he exploits destructive powers to make houses and façades collapse in order to reveal a reality in these spaces that was initially hidden. At the same time, his portrayals of people sleeping draw attention to the barriers between consciousness and unconsciousness, dream and reality.
