HOWARD TANGYE was born in 1948 in Queensland, Australia. He went to Europe with the intention of studying art, and completed studies in fashion and textile design and drawing at St. Martin's School of Art. He then took a postgraduate course in drawing at the Parsons School of Art & Design, graduating with a diploma in 1976. Howard Tangye has been working with renowned fashion designers for more than 20 years, and has also illustrated collections for John Galliano and Dior in London and Paris, among others. In 1997, the artist was appointed head of womenswear at Central Saint Martins School of Art in London. In recent years, his works have been displayed at national and international solo and group exhibitions.
