Cornelia Baltes was born in Mönchengladbach in 1978. She studied at the University of Wuppertal (2000-2003) and at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (2003-2006). She then continued her studies at the Slade School of Fine Art in London (2009-2011). The artist has received several awards including the Jealous Graduate Print Prize (2011), the Marianne Defet Painting Scholarship (2014) from the Kunsthalle Nürnberg and project sponsorship from the Arts Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2015. Her works have featured in national and international solo and group exhibitions. Cornelia Baltes lives and works in London and Berlin.
