Esther Stocker

Esther Stocker was born in Schlanders/Silandro in South Tyrol (IT) in 1973 and studied with Eva Schlegel and Anton Lehmden at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1994 until 1997. In 1996, she attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Other periods spent studying abroad included the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, from 19999 until 2000, and Chicago from 2002 until 2003. Among other awards, Esther Stocker received the Otto Mauer Prize in 2004, the South Tyrolean Art-for-Architecture Prize in 2007, the City of Vienna Prize for Fine Arts in 2009, and the Prix Aurélie Nemours in 2020. Her works have been shown in many international solo as well as group exhibitions and she has realised numerous site-specific works and public art projects in different European countries, the US, Japan, and China.  Esther Stocker lives and works in Vienna.
