Hans Op de Beeck was born in Turnhout, Belgium, in 1969 and studied fine arts at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels from 1992 until 1996. From 1996 until 1997, he completed a postgraduate course at the Higher Institute for Fine Arts (HISK) in Brussels and at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam from 1998 until 1999. From 2002 until 2003, he attended the MoMA PS1 Studio Program in New York. His work has been shown in numerous international solo and group exhibitions and is part of public museum collections all over the world, for instance the National Museum, Oslo; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Antwerp; the Sammlung Goetz, Munich; the Centre Pompidou, Paris; the Istanbul Modern, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington D.C. Hans Op de Beeck lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
