Jan Paul Evers was born in Cologne in 1982. He studied free art at the Braunschweig University of Art under Prof. Nicola Torke, Prof. Dörte Eißfeldt and Prof. Thomas Rentmeister from 2005 to 2011. He has received several awards and scholarships including the Fine Arts Advancement Award from the State of North Rhine Westphalia (2012), a work scholarship from the Kunstfonds Foundation, Bonn (2012), a work scholarship from Fürstenberg Zeitgenössisch, Donaueschingen (2014) and the ‘junger westen’ art prize from the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen (2015). He recently also won a scholarship from the Krupp Foundation for Contemporary German Photography, Essen (2016) and the ars viva prize 2017. His works have been shown in both solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad as well as being featured in public and private collections. Jan Paul Evers lives and works in Cologne.
