Natalie Czech was born in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1976 and studied photography at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Thomas Ruff from 2000 until 2005. She has won several awards, for instance the Prize for Young Artists of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2008 and the Villa Romana prize in 2014. In 2020, Natalie Czech became a professor for photography at the Braunschweig University of Art’s Freie Kunst institute. Her works have been shown in international solo and group exhibitions and may be found in international collections at institutions such as the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich; the Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf; the Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne; the Lafayette Anticipations, Fondation d’Entreprise Galeries Lafayette, Paris; the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. She lives and works in Berlin.
