Sophie Dvořák was born in Vienna in 1978. From 2004 until 2008, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and at the Glasgow School of Arts in Scotland. From 2004 until 2005, she was also a student at the School Friedl Kubelka for Artistic Photography in Vienna.  She has won several prizes and awards, for instance the Theodor Körner Prize in 2012, the Artist Award of the City of Vienna in 2016, and the Austrian State Scholarship for Fine Arts in 2020.  Her works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions both in Austria and internationally and are also represented in public collections such as the Artothek des Bundes at the Belvedere 21. Sophie Dvořák lives and works in Vienna.
