Aitor Ortiz was born in Bilbao in 1971 and is among Spain’s best-known photographic artists. His works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in different countries, for instance solo shows at the Museo Guggenheim (Bilbao, 2011), the Fotografiska Stockholm (2011), and the Sala Canal de Isabel II (Madrid, 2012). In 2011, Hatje Cantz published the book “Aitor Ortiz”, an important monograph of his oeuvre to date. Aitor Ortiz has won several awards, and his works are represented in international collections. He lives and works in Bilbao.
