Wolfgang Walkensteiner

Wolfgang Walkensteiner was born in Klagenfurt in 1949 and studied architecture with Norbert Schlesinger at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna from 1967 until 1968. From 1968 until 1973, he studied painting in Max Weiler’s master class at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. He has been a member of the Kunstverein Kärnten since 1972 and became a member of the Artists’ Association in Vienna in 1994. Wolfgang Walkensteiner has won several awards and his work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in different European countries. In 1976, he represented Austria at the 37th Venice Biennale. Wolfgang Walkensteiner lives and works in Vienna.
