Lutz Driessen’s small-scale works feature extensive motifs which can be located in the image space through an interplay of figuration and abstraction of differing intensity and dimensionality. His works are expressed in a strong interplay of colours and forms, based on partially recognisable motifs and geometric elements. As such, he tracks down the very foundations of painting and explores the technical possibilities of this medium right to the limit.
