Based on classic analogue photography, Tina Lechner produces sculptural image creations in which human bodies, combined with applied forms made by her, meld into full page subjects. Working meticulously in the darkroom, Tina Lechner extends the design possibilities of the medium, using the interplay of contrasting light and dark to bring a contemplative aesthetic to the image. The artist takes as her theme the relationship between sculpture and photography, resolving the tension between two-dimensionality and spatial illusion by a radical reduction of form and colour.
