The series “Stock Photos” is based on images from several photo agencies, downloaded illegally on the Internet and softened until the entire image, including the copyright imprint, is blurred beyond recognition. The original subjects of the selected images, available for purchase for media-related usage, reflect a staged view of the art world. Framed by the original titles given to them by the agencies, they dissolve into a nebulous nothing, a state of relative meaninglessness.

, Installation, cabinet with 13 stones, 95 x 145 x 15 cm
Kollitsch Collection

This stone collection shows itself from a sober, factual angle and, at first sight, appears to have geological significance. In truth, however, this work is emotionally charged. Every single stone comes from locations where marches were held. The stones are labelled, and the information provided in the cabinet makes it possible to allocate them to their place of origin. During a six-month stay in Istanbul, the artist duo closely observed the resistance movement against the government that began to form itself at the time and was met by police violence against peaceful protesters. Unthrown Stones makes reference to non-violent means of protest and the instrument of peaceful demonstration.
